The lush environs aided by the monsoon present a picture perfect opportunity to head for a trek. And, if you are a music lover, here's something to look forward to

Trek. Concert. Sleepover at ancient cave.

On August 24, there will be a night jungle trek followed by a local dinner and an acoustic band performance high in the mountains of Raigad. Also, on the cards is spending a night at Thanale, site of ancient Buddhist caves.

Thanale caves

Interestingly, these caves are a group of 23 Buddhist caves located at Sudhagad, 18 km from Pali. They date back to the first century BC and are considered to be one of the oldest caves in India.

During the British rule, freedom fighter Vasudev Balwant Phadke had taken shelter in these caves. You can wake up to the scenery of the surrounding forests and splash your way through the waterfall on the way down.
