Tricolour Troopers: India's answer to Barmy Army

In England, you have the rowdy Barmy Army. Now, Chennai have their own version of cheerleaders called 'Tricolour Troopers'.

The organisation was co-founded by Suhail, younger brother of Karun Chandhok, India's lone Formula One driver. This is the first sporting event that the Troopers are supporting.

"We have plans to cheer the Indian cricket team during the upcoming two Tests and three-match one-day series against Australia. "The basic aim of this organisation is to create a fan following for all sportspersons in India. We started with the Davis Cup as it is all about the pride of playing for the country.

We hope our vociferous cheering will help our boys prevail.'' So far all the noise by the Troopers have come to zilch, as India slipped to a 0-2 deficit on the opening day.
