Fatullah: Kumar Sangakkara pulverised the Bangladesh bowlers in the recently concluded Test series, but the vastly experienced Sri Lankan batsman is not taking anything lightly.

After sweating it out during practice yesterday, Sangakkara told mid-day: "If anyone is satisfied with his practice or with his performance with the bat or ball, then he should he prepared for his downfall. As far as I am concerned, I like to spend a lot of time in the nets."

The 36-year-old who hit 319 and 105 in the second Test has now set his eyes on doing well on Lanka's tour to England starting early May. In fact, the batsman who has already amassed 11,151 runs in 122 Tests is extremely keen to do well at Lord's, and would love hitting a triple-century there.

Now, that's something no foreign batsman has managed to achieve at the haloed venue. "Why not?" was all he was willing to say when asked about this ultimate feat.

Sangakkara has easily been Lanka's most prolific batsman along with friend Mahela Jayawardene in the past decade, but the sort of adulation which accompanies such exploits has eluded him. That however, is something which hardly bothers him.

He opted out of the IPL-7 auction since he believes he would not be able to devote much time to the franchise owing to the England tour.

Sangakkara is satisfied with Lanka's current form and hoped paceman Lasith Malinga would be able to strike the same form that helped beat Pakistan in their Asia Cup opener.
