When I caught the Tron: Legacy preview, a few weeks ago, there was the promise of a singularly spectacular experience. 
The world of Tron the Grid, Tron City, the Outlands seemedu00a0 like a mystery waiting to unfold. A few nights ago, it did.
This is the story of Samu00a0 (Hedlund), heir to a tech empire started by his father, the visionary Kevin Flynn.
Twenty years ago, the man disappeared leaving behind a confused five-year-old Sam wondering where his father had vanished. He finds him a prisoner in a world he createdu00a0 and strives to rescue him.u00a0

What's hot: Audiences opting for the 3-D experience will enjoy the world of the Grid and like Avatar before it, can expect an immersive rather than gimmicky feel to the use of the technology.
Those watching the film in 2-D also needn't lose heart. The director puts in a disclaimer at the beginning that the film is mostly shot in 2-D and that it was conceived to be enjoyed in that format.
The film is spectacular, no doubt about it. And the VFX is pathbreaking, to say the least.

What's not: I feel a lot of footage has been left at the editing table. There are several questions that abound in your head once you come out of the theatre and they are left unanswered.
What to do: Legacy lives up to the legacy set by its predecessor. Anyone looking for something different will not be disappointed.
