Twitter flooded with praises for Dale Steyn's 400th Test wicket

New Delhi: Twitter, the micro-blogging site, exploded with congratulatory messages for Dale Steyn after the fast bowler claimed his 400th Test wicket by dismissing Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal on the opening day of the second Test in Dhaka on Thursday.


The 32-year old became the second bowler of South Africa after Shaun Pollock to reach the landmark.


West Indies Batsman Darren Sammy wrote on Twitter, "Congrats @dalesteyn62 #400wickets #moretocome #legend #betterbloke".

Meanwhile, Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle described the South African pace spearhead as the best bowler of his generation.

"Edged and GOT HIM! The #SteynRemover gets number 400! Tamim gone for 6! Take a bow, you BEAUTY! #ProteaFire," Cricket South Africa tweeted.

The Indian Premier League franchise SunRisers Hyderabad also greeted Steyn for his commendable performance, tweeting, "Finally! That one wicket we have all been waiting for. Well done".

Steyn, who is playing his 80th Test, reached his landmark when skipper Hashim Amla took a chest-high catch in his third over of the match.
