The accused, identified as Romeo Lobo, had arrived at the gates of the church at around 11.30 pm and wanted to park his vehicle inside. He asked the security guard Pratish Kamble to allow him to park inside, after which the guard called the church’s media coordinator, Mohan Kumar Natrajan, to seek permission.

Lobo then got into a tiff with Kamble over the issue and as the fight ensued, Natrajan arrived at the spot. When he was denied permission to park his vehicle, an agitated Lobo pulled out a weapon and stabbed both of them.

“After assaulting them, Lobo admitted both of them at YCM Hospital and fled. We are in search of him and have recorded both Kamble and Natrajan’s statement.

An FIR has been registered under section 307 of the IPC and investigations are ongoing,” said M K Naikawade, PSI, from Bhosari police station.

Police said Lobo was working with the church three years ago, but was not in touch with the church administration since then.
