Two late wickets will help us: Gibson

West Indies coach Ottis Gibson feels that two wickets at the fag end of the day would help the Caribbeans bounce back on Day Two of the second Test at the Eden Gardens today. "Two late wickets will help us bounce back and keep the series alive," Gibson said after India were 346-5 at close of the first day.

Gibson though credited his bowlers for toiling hard on a wicket that didn't offer too much to his bowlers. "But it is no use cribbing as this is the nature of the sub-continent's wickets. It's always tough to play here," he said.u00a0
Asked why Kemar Roach was picked to play the Eden Test, Gibson showed his faith in the fast bowler. "We took into account the historical evidence of Indian batsmen's success against spinners. And with Kemar, we thought he could use the extra pace. Overall, he has filled in Rampaul's boots quite well. He bowled well today and I hope he will improve further as the game proceeds," he stated.

The West Indies coach was all praise for Rahul Dravid, who scored his fourth ton at Eden, and VVS Laxman. "Any bowling attack would find it tough to bowl against batsmen of that calibre. You can say the same thing about Dravid and Tendulkar. They (VVS and Dravid) scored quickly and for us to get five wickets at the end of the day wasn't a bad at all," he felt.
