Palghar (Maha): Two employees posted at the office of Deputy Superintendent of Land survey at Vasai were arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh, ACB officials said on Thursday.

Surveyor Deepesh Pimple and inspector of land records Samsu Pathara had allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh as bribe from a complainant for issuing a report and a map of his land, Police Inspector Anil Honrao of ACB's Thane unit said.

Following a complaint, a trap was laid at the office on Wednesday and Pimple was nabbed while accepting the bribe, Honrao said. Since Pathara had made a demand for the bribe, he too was apprehended, the officer said.

A case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988 was registered and investigations are underway, police said.
