Two thieves land in Crime Branch net

Sleuths of the Crime Branch (Unit III) of city police arrested two persons yesterday from Sangavi, who are suspected of committing 10 house burglaries and motorcycle thefts.

While making the arrests, the police recovered goods worth Rs 20 lakh from the suspects identified as Kashinath Gaikwad and Aslam Seikh, who are criminals on record.u00a0


The duo have similar cases registered against them at Hadapsar, Swargate and Kondhwa. Rajendra Bhamare, assistant commissioner of police said their modus operandi was to scout around for empty flats and then enter buildings late in the evening.


They would then reach the terrace and climb down onto the balcony of the target flat late at night. The duo would then force a window open, enter the falt, gather valuables and exit from the front door.u00a0
