The idea is to provide world-class infrastructure for cultural events, so that the entertainment industry, including Bollywood and theatre, can earn great revenue. "As per the new plan, we have created a cultural cell to work in the direction of taking Mumbai into this league," said BMC chief Ajoy Mehta.
Besides revamping existing art and culture centres, the cell will study the scope of building more such hubs across the city. "Developing the art and cultural industry will also give employment to hundreds of people," he added.
