Shania-Lee Swart may be just 17 years old, but she has written her name into the cricket record books. Swart became a one-woman army as she scored all the runs for her team in a T20 match in South Africa. Actually, let us correct ourselves. She scored all the runs that came of the bat for her team, there were nine extras too. Swart who turns out for Mpumalanga 160 out of 169 runs in their T20 tie against Easterns during the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Girls' U-19 Week in Pretoria.

Yes. You read it right. She scored 160 and the team scored 169, with Swart's teammates contributing zilch to the score. That's right, the rest of the team scored zero.

Even as her teammates failed to open their account, Swart hit 12 sixes and 18 fours in her 86-ball unbeaten knock that saw her team beat Easterns by 42 runs.

The unique scorecard

Swart, who is an opener, had already created a buzz in the South African cricket circles recently after smashing 289 in a 50-over game last Friday. Her team's score that time had been 352. Just 61 runs being contributed by her teammates.

Mpumalanga won the toss and decided to bat first. But they were in trouble early after being reduced to 19/3. Lee-Swart then shared a 50-run partnership with Yonella Vellolo for fourth wicket to steady the ship. Swart's contribution in the partnership: 50.

Mpumalanga then lost their way again and were stuttering at 108/8 when Swart built another partnership. This time her 61-run partnership with Nicholate Phiri for the ninth wicket saw the team score 169/8 from their 20 overs.

This is the first time in the history of cricket that an individual has scored 95 per cent runs off the team's total.

Swart's knock is the third-best score in Twenty20s after West Indian Chris Gayle's 175 in 2013 and Zimbabwe's Hamilton Masakadza's 162 in 2016.

Swart though wasn't done for the day. She came in to bowl and claimed two scalps for 21 runs from her four overs as Mpumalanga defeated Easterns.

Interestingly, Swart is an accomplised hockey player too and has been selected to the South African u-16 team.
