Bordeaux: Belgium coach Marc Wilmots continued to shrug off criticism following his side’s defeat to Italy in their Euro 2016 opener as he promised to ring the changes for today’s crunch meeting with the Republic of Ireland.
The 47-year-old former striker has been on the defensive in the face of suggestions he is not getting the best out of a talented crop of players in the wake of the 2-0 loss to Italy in Lyon on Monday. That defeat means Belgium, who sit second in the FIFA world rankings, need a positive result against the Irish before their final Group E game against Sweden as they look to progress to the last 16.
