MS Dhoni & Co will hope history does not repeat itself at Uppal in the first ODI against England today. Here's how the Men in Blue have lost three-out-of-three times previously...
As India search for their elusive ODI win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal here today against England in a first of five ODIs, here's a recall of their poor show in the only three matches the venue has hosted since its inception in 2005.

The first-ever ODI here saw Yuvraj Singh score an unbeaten 103u00a0-- his fifth career hundred -- to help India recover from 35-5 and post a decent 249-9. Shaun Pollock, Mkhaya Ntini and Andre Nel ripped through the Indian top-order before Yuvraj found able support in Irfan Pathan and MS Dhoni. A 17-ball 37 cameo from Harbhajan Singh also played a crucial role in indian reaching close to 250. In reply, South Africa suffered a few early hiccups as RP Singh and Pathan reduced them to 76-3. Thereafter though, Jacques Kallis (68) and Ashwell Prince (46) steered SA home comfortably with seven balls to spare.

India lost this one chasing! Australia, opting to bat first, piled on a solid score of 290 . The match witnessed a verbal altercation between Andrew Symonds and S Sreesanth after the Indian pacer accounted for the Australian's wicket and celebrated wildly. However, Symonds had already hammered 89 runs off just 67 balls. In reply, Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson left India in tatters at 13-3 until Yuvraj and Sachin Tendulkar added 95 for the fourth-wicket. Yuvraj's eighth ODI century (121) was once again in a losing cause as India were bundled out for 243 in 47.4 overs.

Australian chose to bat first at the venue yet again and posted a mammoth 350-4, with big scores from openers Shaun Marshu00a0 (112), who got his maiden century and Shane Watson (93). In reply, Sachin Tendulkar probably sowed the seeds for his ODI double century, which he would go on to get at Gwalior a few months later. India's were in the chase throughout, with Sachin (175) doing the bulk of the scoring. At the end of 47 overs, India were 332-6, needing just 18 runs from the last three overs, with Tendulkar and Jadeja at the crease. But as it turned out, a couple of run-outs and Tendulkar's dismissal saw India bowled out for 347 in 49.4 overs -- losing by three runs.
