As per the latest reports, the Union Public Service Commission will be declaring the official notification for IAS Civil Services Exam and IFoS Exam on 23 April 2016. Every year, nearly 5 lakh candidates appear for the coveted Civil Services Examination. The Civil Services Exam is conducted by the UPSC to select candidates to fill administrative positions in different All-India Services and central civil services including IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and IRTS.
As per the Exam calendar declared by the UPSC earlier, eligible candidates are required to submit their application forms for the IAS Civil Services Exams by 20th May 2016. The IAS Prelims Exam is scheduled to take place on 7th August 2016.
IAS Exam 2016 Eligibility Criteria: Candidates holding an undergraduate degree from Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India is eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam.
Age Limit: For general category candidates the upper age limit is 32 years. The age restriction for OBC candidates is 35 years and for SC/ST candidates is 37 years.
Attempts Allowed: All candidates are allowed to six attempts for IAS Civil Services Examination. The number of attempts restriction is not applicable for candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Candidates will also have to submit of fees of Rs 100 (except SC/ST/ Female/Physically Handicapped candidates). Before start filling up of Online Application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the jpg format.
