US First Lady joins Twitter but forgets to add husband
US First Lady Michelle Obama started a new Twitter account yesterday on her 49th birthday
Within few minutes of joining @Flotus, the First Lady, who also showed off her new haircut, had 5,000 followers. Michelle chose to follow feeds from all the branches of the US military, including the Coast Guard, Department of Education and the Partnership for a Healthier America, of which she is honorary chairwoman.
But there was no immediate sign of US President Barack Obama’s Twitter feed, which has 25 million followers around the world, in the list of those being followed by Mrs Obama. Michelle previously had a Twitter account under @MichelleObama which was run by the Obama campaign during the election, but she stopped placing personal posts on it in November.
