Atlanta police rep, Carlos Campos, said that the child’s aunt, Rena Odin, and a maid had tried in vain to free the child, who had been trying to retrieve a toy that had fallen into the drain, but two workmen managed to free the boy, the New York Daily News reported.
Campos asserted that the Raymond V was “conscious, alert and breathing” when paramedics arrived before 4 p.m.
Campos added that even though the boy is still recuperating in the hospital, doctors expect a full recovery.
