Varun Dhawan to shoot for 'October' sans any make-up or glycerine

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan will not apply any makeup or use glycerin in the shooting of the thriller-drama film 'October' directed by Shoojit Sircar

Varun Dhawan to shoot for 'October' sans any make-up or glycerine


Actors have been knowing to go to lengths to in the skin of their characters. Some artists also undergo extreme physical transformations to perfect their act. Previously for 'Badlapur', Varun Dhawan had taken extreme care of getting his role right. He had spoken how the negative role took a toll on him, especially the scene with Huma Qureshi. This time Varun has taken up his acting chops up a notch, by looking as real as he can in 'October'. According to a story in DNA, Varun will be shooting for the entire film, sans any makeup.


Keeping in mind the space of the film, Shoojit has asked Varun to keep it real. Says a source, "Varun is in a completely different zone right now as he shoots for October. The film has a lot of scenes where his character has a meltdown and breaks into tears. The actor will be seen nursing a heartbreak in the film."

The team is currently shooting those scenes in Delhi. On one of the days, on the sets, when Varun was filming his first emotional scene, Shoojit walked up to him and gave him a bit of advice. The source adds, "Cry without any glycerine — that's what Shoojit told Varun. He wants the audience to feel the pain and agony that Varun’s character goes through. Varun actually broke down on the sets and cried while shooting a scene. Shoojit and the entire crew were bowled over by Varun’s performance in that scene."

Recently, Salman Khan and Sridevi have also said that they didn't have to use glycerine for the emotional scenes in Tubelight and Mom, respectively. Ranveer Singh, too, has said that he brings himself in the emotional space of the scene he shoots on a particular day. For any breakdown scene, he turns to thinking about difficult episodes of his life for such scenes. Now, Varun, too, joins the list.
