Victoria, the wife of former England football captain David Beckham, will work with the UN for its AIDS charity programme in third world nations, where the virus is rampant.

It is learnt that Victoria, mother of three, was inspired following a recent trip to South Africa, where she met with children suffering from the deadly disease.

A friend of the star told British tabloid The Sun: "Victoria wants to give back by doing what she can."
