It was quite unusual for Victory Cricket Club to name Mumbai Ranji Trophy player Aditya Tare in the playing XI for their Dr HD Kanga Cricket League 'A' Division match against Fort Vijay CC on Saturday when the wicketkeeper-batsman was away in Punjab where he was part of the West Zone team in the Duleep Trophy.

As a result, Victory CC fielded with 10 players for the three-hour play on Saturday. There was some more drama which unfolded at Azad Maidan when Victory CC asked for a substitute for the day's play.

But the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) rules permits a substitute only for 30 minutes. All Victory CC skipper Amit Patil said on the issue was, "It was a team decision."
When asked whether Tare would join the team for today's play, he said: "Maybe." Victory were 172 for four with Srideep Mangela scoring 63 and Pratik Prabhu batting on 72.
