Kutkipura village in Berasia tehsil in this district has ushered a revolution of sorts by generating electricity from human waste.


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday dedicated to the people a five KW bio-electricity generation plant set up at a cost of about Rs 22 lakh in this village which would generate electricity from human waste, an official release said here today.


This plant has been set up with the amount provided by senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Kailash Joshi from his Local Area Development Fund. Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan said it is nothing but a revolution to generate electricity by human waste without causing any damage to environment.


Chouhan who was all praise for this worth emulating initiative, said that efforts would be made to replicate this experiment at other places.

The Chief Minister said a number of programmes are being implemented by the State government for the welfare of farmers.

He said effective measures have been taken to turn agriculture into a lucrative proposition.

u00a0As part of this, farm loans are being provided to farmers at the minimum three per cent interest rate besides bonus of Rs 100 per quintal has been paid to them on minimum support price, he said.
