The 'Fast and Furious' star's voice got chocked while accepting two awards for 'Furious 7' 'favourite movie' and 'favourite action movie', reports People magazine.
Diesel recollected the memories of his friend and co-star Paul Walker, who died in a 2013 car crash while shooting for the movie.
The 48-year-old star said how difficult it was to film the movie after Walker's demise. Fighting back tears, Diesel told the audience he was not expecting to be hit with such a wave of feeling as he stepped onstage.
