A 30-year-old man from Virar has complained to the police about a WhatsApp message circulating in Gopcharpada where he lives about him being a terrorist. He has asked that the message be taken down as it is ruining his reputation.

Sayed Sherali Khan said he had been trying to file a complaint for a week after his friend received a forwarded picture of Khan as a whatsapp message on September 22, that said Khan was a terrorist and he was threat to the nation. Also, if he was spotted, he should be handed over to the police. The friend immediately informed Khan.

Khan, who was shocked by the post, went to meet the superintendent of Virar police station. He said it was only after making several rounds of the police station that his complaint was registered.

Khan told the police that he was unemployed but used to have a tempo. Six months ago, his tempo was set on fire by a few people over parking issues. Khan told the police that he suspects the involvement of these people in the messages.
