Indian cricket's poster boy, Virat Kohli takes on a female journalist on the front foot when asked about his personal life and relationship with Bollywood star Anushka Sharma
Indian cricket's poster boy, Virat Kohli, is known for his temper, but he is learning to keep it in check and handle situations more diplomatically nowadays. On Monday, when a female journalist asked him about his personal life and relationship with Bollywood star Anushka Sharma, he took it on the front foot and launched a stylish counter-attack that was clear without being brash.
In Mumbai to launch a new initiative to connect with his fans, the 27-year-old flatly refused to take any questions from the media on his personal life.
HERE'S THE VIDEO:
Asked about Anushka, Kohli retorted, "That's for none to know. I do not have to comment on it. How is your personal life and how is it going?"
He was also diplomatic when commenting on the controversy over Bollywood star Salman Khan's nomination by the Indian Olympic Association as the brand ambassador of the country's Rio Games contingent.
"That's not for me to comment on when I don't know the details. It won't be proper for me to comment on this platform," he flatly said.

Talking about his initiative 'FanBox', he said, "It's an important opportunity for the fans to interact with me and the content will also be most exclusive, not available on other social media platforms," said the cricketer about the digital initiative that connects him with the fans.
'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh and Olympic medalists - two-time podium-finisher Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt - have opposed the move of the IOA to nominate Khan as the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent to Rio yesterday.
Costing Rs 16,999 annually, the 'Virat FanBox' claimed to offer a direct and unprecedented access to the star cricketer, both online and in real-life, and comes loaded with, among other things, a state-of-the-art smartphone carrying the cricketer's emblem, designed and manufactured by "Motorola".
Waiting to watch Tendulkar, Dhoni, Azhar biopics, says Kohli
India's star batsman Virat Kohli said on Monday he is looking forward to watching the biopics of iconic Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Mahendra Singh Dhoni which are scheduled to be released soon.
Batting legend Tendulkar has recently released on his social networking sites the teaser of his biopic, "Sachin: A Billion Dreams", whereas Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi plays the role of Azharuddin in movie named "Azhar". Actor Sushant Singh Rajput plays Dhoni in a film named "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story".
"I am looking forward to watch all of them. Obviously, the one I am waiting for the most is Tendulkar's. It is because I am connected with Tendulkar's memories for such a long time, from when I was a child," Kohli said.
"Actually to get into his head, as I have idolised him from the beginning. What has happened in his career will be portrayed in that. I am really looking forward to it," Kohli said at the launch of Virat FanBox in partnership with Privyplex here.
The 27-year-old batsman has been in sublime form of late, bagging the man of the tournament award in the recent World Twenty20 event and is currently the leading run scorer (367 runs) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
"Again the other two biopics, MS as well... his journey has been very very different one. But there are lots of instances that you won't understand in a cricketer's life. And the third one, Azharuddin as well, the instances that has happened in his life."
"So, they are explained properly. And also it is for people to see and learn from, in all the three biopic. So, I am looking forward to all three," the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper said.
