If you are above 16 years of age and are interested in acting, then Swatantra Theatre’s acting workshop is the place for you. “Professional actors attend our workshop too along with regular students. We teach all aspects of acting, voice modulation and voice culture among other things, so that the students become comfortable for both mediums — theatre and facing the camera,” says Dhanashree Heblikar, one of the instructors.

Swatantra Theatre was opened in the city in 2006 as an attempt to preserve and popularise Hindi theatre. The theatre group now conducts workshops for film and theatre enthusiasts, who aspire to become actors.

The theatre group also trains physically and mentally challenged students from Balkalyan Sanstha. They also provide actors for films, TV serials, short films and other media.
