Dr Sanjay Dhingra, who has been here all his life, has his clinic functioning dually as a centre for securing UID cards. The centre has three printing and two enrolment machines, with a 12-man team.

Up to 330, (highest till now) cards are produced in a day at the centre, located in Sui Wallan, Daryaganj. While state governments are struggling to achieve UID enrolment targets, there are still complaints from people. Last year, Delhi government had announced that it'll provide UID cards to all Delhiites by October 2011.u00a0

"The task has been entrusted to me by the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of the area and I don't charge even for the rent and electricity. People here are mostly uneducated and don't understand the process, but we explain to them the method and the significance of the card," said Dhingra, who is also the president of Jama Masjid Citizens Welfare Society.

One of the members of the team, Fahim-ud-din, has got the highest number of enrolments for the entire country and has been awarded by the authority for the same.

"Only recently, the security staff of Delhi Chief Minister got their UID cards made here. Many people from far-flung areas come to us for the cards as we don't delay the process," added Dhingra.
