The Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) decision to have counter sales of tickets for today's maiden T20 International between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium may have boosted the sales, but 750 tickets were left unsold till yesterday evening.
“Around 2000 tickets were put up for sale on the counter. Only 750 tickets are left with us now. They are all of Rs 2,500 and higher. Demand for tickets at our counters was very good,” Dr PV Shetty, MCA’s joint secretary, toldu00a0MiD DAY.u00a0
The MCA on Thursday reversed its earlier decision to sell tickets only through the internet. Going by the response, MCA president Ravi Savant decided to have counter sales.
Figures from online sale of tickets could not be confirmed, but tickets of lesser denomination (Rs 300) are sold out. Tickets of Rs 2,500 and Rs 7,500 (Grand Stand) are yet to attract interest, it is learnt.u00a0
