What it's about: Welcome to non-stop action, top-notch production values, an asli desi masala entertainer and Salman Khan in full glory.

Producer Boney Kapoor achieves what no other producer could giving Salman a film worth his stature and Khan lives up to it.

Wanted, directed by Prabhu Deva, is a Salman Khan show from start to end. The actor plays Radhey, a gangster with dollops of attitude and principles.

He doesn't hit women and children, has contempt for his bosses, and has no time for love or emotional attachments. He kills for a living, but you can't help but love him.

All he has are three friends and his services are available to anyone with money. Trouble begins when he shifts allegiance from one underworld group to another.

Then Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj) makes the war personal by killing his best friend. The romantic angle is taken care of by Radhey falling for Jhanvi (Ayesha Takia), who is being harassed by a local corrupt cop Talpade (Mahesh Manjrekar). He has a secret that suddenly becomes known to his enemies. And then it's time to finish business.

What's HOT: There may be nothing novel about the script but it is Prabhu's handling of it makes the film special. Plus, the fact that he's not being apologetic about making a massy entertainer is commendable.
u00a0
It's like those films of yore where you want to whistle on the entry of the hero; clap on his dialogues and cheer him when he grooves to the tapori numbers.
u00a0
Prabhu Deva also scores in the romantic scenes the interaction between Radhey and Jhanvi has some lovely moments. The last 30 minutes of the film are the highlight the climax is a whopper.

But what really makes Wanted is Salman Khan in one stroke, he's proved to everyone what action means. He lives and breathes his part.
u00a0
There are times when you feel the pace is dipping and Salman comes to the rescue with his deadly stunts the kind never before seen on Hindi screen. Forget Jason Statham and Sly Stallone, apna Sallu bhai rules supreme.
u00a0
His energy level is amazing; his dance steps simply outstanding and his intense moments are a highlight.

What's NOT: With Prabhu Deva at the helm, an overdose of Southern spice is evident. The whole cop obsession with Jhanvi is a little outdated.

It would've been believable in the '80s. In this day of news-hungry TV channels, a cop troubling a teenage girl would be BREAKING NEWS.
u00a0
The part of the kidnapping of the top cop's daughter is also exaggerated. There is a lot of violence in Wanted, and it is not for the weak-hearted.
u00a0
The blood and gore will make you cringe and squirm in your seat but there are plenty moments that will make you smile too, if you are willing to put up with the tense moments.u00a0

What's that! Salman Khan's hairstyle, which keeps changing. Not only the length and the styles but the colour as well.
u00a0
What to do: Don't miss it this is Salman Khan's crowning glory and the action entertainer you've been waiting for.
