Actor Aamir Khan walked into a room at the media centre when spin legend-turned-television commentator Shane Warne was enjoying a break at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday.
Surprisingly, they knew each other well and Aamir was seen handing over a copy of a Lagaan DVD to Warne, who got 2001 as an answer when asked about the year of Lagaan’s release.

Warne wanted a photograph taken of him holding the DVD. He then informed Aamir that he met Sachin Tendulkar before play in the morning and wished him all the best.
“He really batted well,” said Aamir, to which Warne responded: “After a long time, I saw him batting with ease and comfort. He looked like the old Sachin. In fact, this is his best innings in the last few years. I was sure he would get a hundred going by the way he was batting.” Aamir could only agree, but said his heart was in his mouth when Tendulkar played those sweep shots.
