Fatima Jaffer, niece of Wasim Jaffer claimed three wickets to help Mumbai register a 123-run win over Saurashtra in the U-19 women's one-day West Zone tournament at Rajkot yesterday.
Riding on Prakashika's 52, Mumbai scored 179-6 in the stipulated 50 overs. Bowling left-arm spin, Fatima took the wickets of Saurashtra's Sujan Sama (4), Reema M (4) and Saraswati K (0) in 1.5 overs, giving away just four runs. Saurashtra were bowled out for a paltry 56 in 30.5 overs.
"It was very important for us to win the match against Saurashtra by a huge margin. I never thought I would do it in such a fashion. I couldn't have asked for a better debut," said the 13-year-old.
