The city's Bavdhan and Chandni Chowk area boast of several eateries where you can indulge in gourmet cuisine. The latest to join the block is the suggestively named Tasty Tongues.

On the evening we visited, the place was fairly packed with youngsters but we managed to get a table without hassle. While the interior decor was pretty basic, the artworks on there were zariworks hanging from the walls that reflected the traditional art of Rajasthan. The bright yellow and red coloured walls added an energetic vibe to the place.

We started with a basket of Chaat. The Samosa Chaat (Rs 25) tasted like the ones we had savoured in Delhi but were a tad too sweet for our liking. The Dahi Wada (Rs 30) was delicious as the Wadas were fresh with a perfect blend of spices. The Pani Puri was however not too impressive with the puris made from flour and semolina.

For the main course, we opted for Dal Baati and Gatte Ki Sabzi with Churma, which was authentically Rajasthani. The Gobi Onion Mutter Paratha (Rs 45) was a nice m ufffdlange of the three, satiating and generous in quantity. It needs a nap afterwards to make up for it. The Paneer Khurchan with Lachha Paratha (Rs 85) is worth trying if you do not mind adding some extra calories. It is full of oil but tastes magical with Paneer Khurchan.

Meanwhile, the dessert is the main attraction at this eatery. The Doodh Jalebi (Rs 40) and Malpua with Rabri (Rs 35) taste amazing and the best options over here. Interestingly, all their desserts, including Gulab Jamuns are specially cooked with desi ghee.Overall, the service is quick in spite of the hordes of people who pass through its doors.
