We can't make a film just for the heck of it: Karan Johar

It’s been a while that Karan Johar has worked with his close buddy Shah Rukh Khan in a film. And incidentally, the filmmaker who was once always associated with the actor says he is in no hurry to team up with his favourite star in Bollywood. But if they get the right script, a film could be in the offing.

Last year’s release Student of the Year was the most recent film Karan directed and was also his first directorial venture, which didn’t feature SRK.

Says KJo, “Well, Shah Rukh and I working together is an eventuality as he’s part of my family. So I can assure you that it’s going to happen sooner or later. Like everyone else, I too enjoy working with him. Everything depends on the demand of the script. We can’t go and make a film together just for the heck of it.”

The 40-year-old is currently awaiting the release of Bombay Talkies -- which features his short film, his first ever. In the meantime, while some more productions are waiting in the pipeline, KJo has no plans currently to wield the megaphone soon. “I’m juggling a lot of things within the big screen and the small screen medium. I’m enjoying every bit of it and I think I will direct when the time is right,” he says. u00a0
