President Barack Obama vowed that those responsible for the attack would feel the "full weight of justice"
Three people, including an eight-year-old boy, were killed and 144 injured as terror returned to the US with two powerful explosions striking the world’s oldest annual marathon in the city of Boston. President Barack Obama vowed that those responsible would feel the “full weight of justice”.
The two successive blasts rocked the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday afternoon. And when the smoke cleared after the blasts in Boston’s Back Bay section, dozens of victims lay in the street, some unconscious, some grievously injured, including some whose limbs had been torn off by the blast.

President Obama pledged that those responsible would feel the “full weight of justice”.
“The American people will say a prayer for Boston tonight,” he said. The president cautioned that authorities were still investigating and that people should not jump to any conclusions.
Hunt is on
“We will go to the ends of the Earth to identify the subject or subjects who are responsible for this despicable crime, and we will do everything we can to bring them to justice,” said Richard DesLauriers, FBI agent in charge in Boston. He said investigators had received “voluminous tips,” were interviewing witnesses and were analyzing the crime scene.
Also, a Saudi national with a leg wound was under guard at a Boston hospital in connection with the bombings, but investigators could not say whether he was involved. Authorities in Boston found at least one other explosive device that they were dismantling, an official said.
Both bombs were said to be small, and tests showed no C-4 or other high-grade explosive material present, suggesting that the packages used in the attack were crude explosive devices.
Lookout notice
Investigators warned police to be on the lookout for a “darker-skinned or black male” with a possible foreign accent in connection with the attack.
