Crime Branch make ninth arrest in the J Dey murder case with the help of Uttarakhand police

The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested another man in the J Dey murder case yesterday, for allegedly supplying the weapon used to gun down the senior crime journalist.

Deepak Dalvir Singh Sisodia, who allegedly provided the .32 revolver to shooter Satish Kalya, has been arrested from Kathgodam in Nainital district of Uttarakhand.

This is the ninth arrest in the case. The police are looking for another suspect, Nayan Singh, who supplied the revolver to Sisodia from Nepal.

According to Mumbai police officials, Sisodia has been arrested with the help of the local police in Uttarakhand. He had supplied the foreign-made revolver to Kalya, a key member of the Chhota Rajan gang.

Earlier police had arrested Rohee Thangappan Joseph alias Kalya (34), Abhijeet Shinde (28), Arun Dake (27), Sachin Gaikwad (27), Anil Waghmode (35), Nilesh Shendge (34) and Mangesh Agawane (25) and Vinod Asrani alias Vinod Chembur in connection with Dey's murder.

56-year-old Dey was the Investigations Editor with MiD DAY. He was shot dead by four motorcycle-borne assailants in suburban Powai on June 11.
