WBJEE Results 2014: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is controlled by state government and is conducted predominantly for various governmental, private medical and engineering institutions in the state of West Bengal. WBJEE was established in 1962 by the name “West Bengal Board of Examination.
Candidates who had completed 10+2 board examination from any recognized board can appear in the WBJEE examination. To be eligible for WBJEE examination for Technology and Engineering courses other than Marine Engineering the candidate should be of 17 years of age but there is no maximum age limit. WBJEE examination was conducted on 19th and 20th April 2014. On 19thApril Biological Sciences Examination was conducted and on 20th April Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics Examination was conducted.
Candidates of science stream at plus two levels can only sit for WBJEE examinations. There are some compulsory subjects for the students such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and biology. Two separate tests are conducted for both Medical and Engineering colleges. However, the only difference between the Medical and Engineering test is that the Medical test includes biology as a subject whereas the Engineering test comprises of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Around 2 lakh candidates appeared for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. WBJEE examination was conducted as to take admission different courses such as Pharmacy, Dental, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, Technology in the West Bengal.
WBJEE examination consists of 80 MCQ’s types which are divided into two sections. Adding on, Section one consists of approximately 60 MCQs of 1 mark each and Section two consists of the remaining 20 MCQs of 2 marks each. In such entrances, negative marking is applicable. 30% of the total marks of a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
