Q. What is the best natural aphrodisiac?
A. The best natural aphrodisiac is an attractive, affectionate and understanding partner. The ideal aphrodisiac still eludes us but the quest for it continues, as hope springs eternal. According to the US based scientists and World authorities Masters and Johnson, “An interesting and interested partner is the best aphrodisiac.”
Q. My fiance insists that I must have Mumbai’s palangtod paan as sex tonic on wedding night. It is apparently expensive too. What do you think?
A. It is common practice, among an about-to-be married groom, to take a paan called palangtod (bed-breaker) on the wedding night to ensure a good (manly!) performance. This paan contains drugs and makes a man feel tremendously drowsy. There is also an associated effect of time-distortion. A minute’s performance may make him feel as if he has performed for an hour. This paan usually does more harm than good! Please keep away.
Q. When I went to nightclub last week, I heard my friends talking about the love drug. I want to know what is this love drug?
A. Ecstasy, the ‘love drug’, is commonly used in parties. It can either be swallowed, or crushed and then snorted or smoked. It leads to a release of brain chemical called serotonin that leads to euphoria, making you feel happy and confident. As the effect of the drug wears off, the serotonin levels drop and this may trigger anxiety at times coupled with depression.
The other side-effects may include lack of concentration, hallucinations, muscle ache, nausea, vomiting and even convulsions. Ecstasy users are often desperate for water because the body temperature increases and dehydration sets in. Drinking more water may help counter the adverse effects of Ecstasy.
