Director Len Wiseman calls it 'a violent polite fight' between the two actresses in their forthcoming film 'Total Recall'
It is one thing to fight a man or a monster, quite another to fight a beautiful woman. Ask beauties Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel, who have a long complicated choreographed action sequence with each other in their next film Total Recall, which director Len Wiseman termed as the most violent polite fight ever.

“I was quite nervous about it. I needed to throw 17 punches at that nose. I mean, I’ll be sued into my next lifetime,” laughs Kate Beckinsale, at a promotional event for the film. The duo had to prepare for almost two weeks for the sequence. “There was a lot of ‘Ooh, I’m so sorry.’ ‘No, no, no, it’s my fault.’ ‘No, no, it was my fault.’ We had quite a good time, which doesn’t normally happen with the men,” adds Kate.
However, the other nice thing about that fight was that Kate’s 12-year-old daughter Lily and her friend Molly were also present at the shoot and the two actresses taught these two girls their moves.

Explains Kate, “Embarrassingly, they learned it all in about 19 minutes, compared to our two weeks and then the costume department made them little versions of our costumes and they did the fight — and it was filmed.”
Agrees Jessica, “Molly chewed gum through the whole filming of their fight scene and at the end had this amazing close-up of that one child chewing gum and I realised I had messed up — I should have been chomping gum. It was the coolest thing. She looked so cool.”u00a0
