Tabu is said to have turned down Zoya Akhtar's film as she didn't want to portray Priyanka Chopra's mother in the film
If the latest buzz doing the rounds is to be believed, actress Tabu has turned down a role in Zoya Akhtar's next film.
It seems that the role required her to play 31-year-old Priyanka Chopra's mother and Tabu (42) was not comfortable with the idea of playing an older woman.
"Tabu was approached to star in Zoya's film around five months ago but she turned down the role in the first meeting as she didn’t think she suited the part.
She is a star and has a wide repertoire of roles that have been appreciated by fans and critics alike. She felt that Priyanka’s mother’s role didn’t fit in with what she is currently looking out for," says a source.
When contacted, both Tabu and Zoya were unavailable for comment.
The actress was last seen in 'Jai Ho', where she played Salman Khan's sister. She will also be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's film 'Haider', and is expected to start shooting for a film with Manoj Bajpai by the end of the month.
