If sources are to be believed, a sense of déjà vu has swept over producer Vashu Bhagnani. Close on the heels of Bipasha Basu refusing to promote his last film, 'Humshakals' (2014), Arshad Warsi has apparently washed his hands of the publicity campaign of his next, 'Welcome 2 Karachi'.
Arshad attended the trailer launch after which he has gone missing from all other promotional events.
Sources say the actor, who was taken on board the project at Bhagnani’s behest, recently had a fallout with the producer. “During an event for the film, Arshad had a heated exchange with a few key people of the team, including the producer himself. So he has decided to stay away from the promotions,” a source suggests.
Arshad and Bhagnani remained unavailable for comment.
Here's why Bipasha Basu refused to promote 'Humshakals'
The actress was missing from all promotional events related to Sajid Khan's 'Humshakals'. After a lot of speculation, Bipasha Basu broke her silence and came out with a strong statement explaining her absence from the film's promotion.
She tweeted, "This is to put an end to all the discussions around my absence for 'Humshakals' promotions. I take full responsibility of getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I'm extremely disturbed by the end result of the same." (Click here to read her entire statement)
