That's what the lines of three women designers Nupur Kanoi, Ruchika Sachdeva and Atithi Gupta proved on the final day at Lakme Fashion Week
The shows in the first half of the final day witnessed a predominance of female designers and gave a sneak peek into their creativity, sense of style, fun with fabrics and silhouettes with stress on the wearability factor.
Starting with a minimalist, feminine collection by emerging designer Atithi Gupta, the show presented a line of tops, jumpsuits and dresses in the colour palette of blue, black and grey. Using a mix of fabrics like georgette, wrinkled crepe, chiffon and cotton silk, Atithi’s line was extremely wearable with a dash of glamour.

Next, models showcased the line of Nupur Kanoi, which hinted elements of the vintage era. Truly impressive, the collection that comprised amour jackets, embroidered trousers, shirts, skirts and jumpsuits, yet again was created out of fabrics such as chiffon, silk and georgette. The colours varied between blue, black, green, off white, indigo and sea green.
Ruchika Sachdeva’s show quirkily juxtaposed the Indian Maharaja with Sadhu influences. Eclectic and playful, the line the explored the contrast between two opposing thoughts, and brought tailored blazers, trousers, blouses, fluid dresses and shirt dresses to the forefront. Colours such as maroon, burnt orange, olive green and mustard added edge to the
chic designs.
The androgynous look was carefully balanced with few feminine elements, making the collection unique. Careful use of ghungroos and embroidered moustaches added an element of quirkiness to the line.u00a0
