A 21-year-old woman lost her life when a speeding motorcycle allegedly hit her and then, losing balance, she came under the wheel of a DTC bus in Preet Vihar area of east Delhi on Wednesday.
According to a police official, the incident took place around 11.30 am on Vikas Marg, near Preet Vihar area of east Delhi. The deceased was identified as Priya Jain, a resident of Krishna Nagar. "She had her earphones on and did not see the bus coming from behind her," a senior police official said.
A case has been registered in this regard and police has arrested the errant driver, Govind Lal (42), of the DTC bus. However, police is unsure whether the motorcycle hit her before she came under the bus. "We are investigating whether the motorcycle hit her or not," a senior police officer said.
