In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old assistant manager of a software company in Pune, was allegedly raped by her gym instructor during a Valentine’s Day party on Sunday.
The incident took place during the wee hours of Sunday at Amanora Park in Pune, where the survivor resides in an appartment with three other female colleagues.

According to the cops, the survivor alerted the police control room after which a case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Firoz Mohammad Shaikh (23) with the Hadapsar police station.
Inspector R N Mohite in-charge of Hadapsar police station said, “The woman hails from Kolkata and she is working in Magarpatta based multinational company from the past two years. She and her friends had organised a Valentine’s Day party at her house and the accused was also invited along with Hanif, a friend of her roommate.”
He added, “The party got over at around 2.30 am and Hanif and Firoz decided to stay back as it was late and they had apparently consumed lot of alcohol. The survivor went to sleep in one of the rooms with her female roommate while Hanif and Firoz were sleeping in the drawing room. Around 3 am, Firoz entered her room and forced himself on her.”
According to the survivor's statement, she was fast asleep and realized that her clothes were removed and before she could react, Feroz pounced on her and raped her. She shouted for help but her friends were fast asleep and failed to hear her as Feroz sexually assaulted her.
“I thought he will kill me so after he left the house I called up the police, told my friends about the incident and registered the case,” she said.
Firoz was arrested by the police on Monday, he will be produced before the court for remand custody.
