Aawaaz-e-Niswaan is a feminist group that has been working with women’s issues since 2001. The NGO has helped many women deal with a multitude of issues, whether it is violence against them or religious intolerance. This training workshop will witness activists from different parts of the country talk about issues faced by women and the approach to deal with it. The workshop will also throw light on issues including fundamentalism, communalism, lack of autonomy and religious impositions. It will look at the political, economic and personal implications of activism for the rights of Muslim women.
This national level workshop will be conducted in Hindi. Though lectures, discussions and film screenings, it aims at helping women activists get a better understanding of issues. Reading material will also be distributed to participants. The interactive workshop will include sessions of discussions and debates. Being a residential workshop, the accommodation, food and the cost of the course material will be taken care of by Aawaaz-e-Niswaan.
