Anuradha and Sonalika Behl were rescued by Noida Police Tuesday. They had locked themselves up in their house No.326 in the posh Sector-29 for seven months. On Wednesday morning, the older sister, Anuradha, died in hospital, due to malnutrition, leading to multiple organ failure. "Anuradha was bleeding from the mouth. She was shifted to the ICU, but in spite of all medical efforts, we were not able to resuscitate here. And, she took her last breath at around 8am," said Dr Amit, the Chief Medical Officer at Kailash Hospital.

"The doctors told me that she needs blood immediately and I rushed to give my blood. But meanwhile doctors said that she will not survive more than an hour. I had given them the flat to live and some money too but even after asking many times they didn't take any help. Now I will take care of Sonali," Vipin Bahl, brother of the two women, told reporters after Anuradha's death.

According to a statement issued by the ministry of women and child development, NCW chairperson Yasmeen Abrar "has ordered an inquiry into the report of the self imposed confinement of NOIDA Behl sisters and their condition". The Noida administration too on Wednesday ordered a probe into the case.
