World No 2 Radwanska ousted from Olympics
World No 2 Agnieszka Radwanska suffered a miserable return to Wimbledon on Sunday as Olympic Games tennis was played indoors for the first
time in 100 years.
Radwanska, defeated by Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final three weeks ago, lost to Germany’s Julia Goerges 7-5, 6-7 (5/7), 6-4 in the first round. Meanwhile, Russia’s Maria Sharapova marked her Olympic debut with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Israel’s Shahar Peer.
