While the entire BJP cadre is standing firmly behind Narendra Modi, the party's city unit seems to have gone a step ahead to appease its most popular leader.

Purshottam Rupala, BJP national vice-president, while addressing the gathering, asked people to write letters to their family in Gujarat requesting them to vote for the party.
Party spokesperson Niranjan Shetty, who was present at the meeting, confirmed that Rupala asked people to write letters. Shetty said, “Rupala, in his speech, said that although the party is confident that it will win decisively in the ensuing Gujarat elections, we want to eliminate the enemy completely.”
He added that he’s sure that many people would write or call their relatives and urge them to vote for the BJP. “Letters carry a special appeal. It’s more personal that a phone call or an email,” he said.
According to a party insider, everyone from Mumbai unit is trying to show that he’s working hard for Gujarat elections. “Even a group of leaders are planning to leave for Gujarat for the campaigning on November 21.”u00a0
