Dhaka: Australia, West Indies and South Africa won their World T20 practice games against New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively yesterday.

While the Aussies had a narrow escape — they beat the Kiwis by only three runs, despite amassing 200 — the Windies and SA brought about convincing wins.

WI rode on opener Dwayne Smith's 60 to put on 172 before bowling out Lanka for 139. On the other hand, the Proteas skittled Pakistan out for 71 and surpassed the total with six overs to spare.

Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Beuran Hendricks and Wayne Parnell returned with two wickets each for the victors. AB de Villiers was unbeaten on 20 while opener Hashim Amla hit 24.
