Dhaka: Hosts Bangladesh suffered an injury blow when paceman Rubel Hossain was ruled out of the World Twenty20 tournament due to a finger injury, it was announced Sunday.
The International Cricket Council said in a statement its event technical committee had allowed a replacement for Hossain, who dislocated a finger during Bangladesh's last game against Hong Kong.
The 24-year-old paceman was replaced by all-rounder Ziaur Rahman.
Rahman, 27, is a right-hander who has played in 11 T20s, scoring 108 runs and taking two wickets.
Bangladesh face defending champions the West Indies in their opening Super-10 stage match in Mirpur on Tuesday.
