Yaami Gautam's look in her latest commercial for an automobile has been inspired by American actress Zooey Deschanel's character, Jess, in the sitcom, New Girl
The Vicky Donor actress is a fan of the US show. Apparently Yaami’s pals keep telling her that her personal quirkiness reminds them of Zooey’s character.

The style of Yaami’s dress in the commercial, which is an inverted pleat with a slim waistband, bears a striking resemblance with that of Zooey’s in the award-winning sitcom.
Says a source, “When Yaami bagged the ad deal, she told the makers to consider Zooey’s look as a reference for the shoot. In fact, she was so convinced about it that she walked into their office in a dress with floral appliques just like Zooey. The team saw her in that look and knew that this is what they wanted.”
When asked about Yaami’s Zooey inspiration, the stylist Sanjana Batra says, “Yes, Yaami wanted to take elements from Zooey’s character. She loves the show and Jess’s character so much. I showcased the fun and quirky side of the character in Yaami’s styling.”u00a0
