Identified as Yogesh Vitthal Londhe alias Tundya, the deceased was a resident of Railway colony, Tadiwala Road. As many as three cases were registered against him in Koregaon Park and Bund Garden police station.

A group of five people attacked Londhe when he had come to the area yesterday afternoon. Police said the act might be in retaliation to an attack by Londhe in Bund Garden. He was taken to Sassoon hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The police came to know about it a few minutes after the incident.

“We are investigating the case and are in the process of questioning eye-witnesses. According to them, there was a girl with the victim who is absconding. Also we have got CCTV footage but it is not clear enough to identify the murderers.

We also suspect that there is possibility of past enmity as one case is registered on Londhe’s name at the Koregaon Park police station,” said Ananat Rajeshirke, police inspector of the Faraskhana police station.

According to sources, five people have been identified and will be arrested soon. u00a0
