She is one of the few women working diligently towards promoting and supporting the sport and has been titled as the present-day nightingale.
Besides her social engagement in activities like protecting the environment, cleaning garbage and improving public transport, Valanka is known for her incredible work in politics, woman empowerment as well as sports in Goa.
After Blackburn Rovers’ recent visit to India, Valanka strongly comments, “It was great that Indian Football fans got the chance to witness the premier league. We must follow the trend and organise exposure trips.”
Valanka runs a football club in Goa comprising players from Brazil, Nigeria, Lebanese and Australia apart from the Indian players.
As she concludes, “I am a woman and yes, I support football. It gives me an adrenaline rush and like everyone else, my final objective is to see India play in the World Cup someday.”
